Oak Grove State Game Area
Oak Grove State Game Area is partially within Deerfield Township. It covers over 1,000 acres and is open to hunting during all game seasons. For more information contact the Michigan DNR at (810)-229-5762
New Parks in Progress
Livingston County Park a 302 acre park to be located on Cohoctah Rd. West of Latson Rd. is in the planning stages.
Deerfield Hills Nature Area
Deerfield Hills Nature Area is a 365 acre park located at the corner of Green Rd and Cohoctah Rd.It offers nature trails and a handicapped accessible dock area on Howe Lake.
There have been many improvements to the Deerfield Township Park. Many dedicated volunteers have cleaned up the trails and parking lot, and the Township Board has approved a trail maintenance schedule to make sure the trails are kept well maintained. Volunteers have been diligently working on installing posts onto which a corresponding map detailing the trails will be attached.
Other improvements to the Park include an expanded parking lot, restroom facility, and educational signs showing information on wildlife and plants in the park.
The Deerfield Township Recreational Advisory Committee advises the Township Board on the Recreation needs of the Township and their meetings are open to the public. Please call to verify when the next meeting will be held.
