Treasurer
The Deerfield Township Treasurer collects both summer and winter taxes at the Township Offices. Tax Payments must be paid in Cash or Check, we DO NOT accept credit cards.
If your Escrow pays your taxes the copy you are mailed is an informational copy for your records. Taxes are collected during normal business hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-5. There is a Black Box in the parking lot if you wish to make a payment when we are closed.
Summer Tax Collection: Summer taxes are collected from July 1st- September 16th during regular office hours. Taxes are delinquent after September 16th but will still be accepted at the Township through February 28th with 1% per month interest added. Sorry, we cannot accept postmark dates.
Winter Tax Collection: WINTER TAXES WILL BE DUE ON FEBRUARY 14th. This is a change from the previous date of February 28th, please make a note of the change so you are not late on your taxes. Taxes will still be collected at the Township until February 28th,with a 3% late fee added. By law, the taxes are transferred to the county on March 1st. You can contact the Livingston County Treasurer after March 21st for any balances not paid. Sorry, we cannot accept postmark dates.

Summer Property Tax Deferment
Taxpayers may defer their summer property tax if they meet the following criteria:
- Has a total gross household income of $40,000 or less for the preceding tax year
- Is totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic, quadriplegic
- Is an eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower
- Is at least age 62
Payment may be defered until February 28th (must be recieved by February 28th in order to avoid penalties and interest).
